The Special Blanket

Our dear friends Margo and Katelin brought over a handmade blanket tonight that they had made for Mathew... Katelin even made sure there was an M on it... Mathew and I sat outside waiting for trick or treaters with tears rolling down our cheeks...
THANK YOU so much.. You have no idea what this means to Mathew. He will treasure it always.. A special blanket from special friends....

Quiet Halloween....

Well this was the quietest Halloween ever for us BUT Mathew got to sit out on our driveway in our LEATHER RECLINER that we took outside!!!!
No loud music blaring... not so many kids this year... tons of candy left.........(Thanks Mom and Aunt Edith for supplying us with the candy)
Next year we hope to be back up and running.....
Thanks Tony and Denise and Brody and Aubrie...for coming and hanging out with us....
OH and Jim and Kathy for popping over too..

Happy Halloween

This will the first year that Mathew hasn't gone "all out" for Halloween. No freaky scray music blasting the neighborhood, no disco and dancing, no fog machine.. BOO HOO HOO
BUT the kids went to school dressed up a little bit today.. here they are..
They will wear different costumes for tonight...

Poor Mathew

Mathew started to get aches and pains and then got a fever.. We had to call his Dr to get him on anti-biotics and to get him some painkillers..
Tonight he threw up... He is not feeling worth a darn!!!!!
If his fever hits 100.4 I have to call the Dr immediately..

Keeping Mathew busy!

I have had Mathew help with pairing up socks.. He is going stir crazy at home all day!
He did have some aches and pains today which we think was from the Neulasta shot.
He helped Briana with a project tonight also making a 1 minute timer!!!
Hopefully the next few days will be good to him before the onslaught of chemo next Monday !

Our friend Jeff came over tonight and took Mathew out to the movies..
I am home with our kids and a couple extra..!
To keep the noise down I just fill them with snacks !!! lol

Mathew has felt quite a bit better today after the sheer tiredness of this morning he was able to surprise us and meet us later at church.. Jacoby had a talk to give in Primary and Mathew was NOT going to miss it!

Tonight we even got the game Sequence out and well....... I won !!!

I BUZZED him today.. actually only down to a 3...
He's feeling somewhat better than yesterday thank goodness..
All he seems to want to do is sleep. Better than throwing up though..

The haunted house...

Yet more treats.... The Becks from our ward came over tonight and brought us this haunted house treat.. Their 2 girls helped make it... yum yum...

Starting to throw up...

Poor Mathew has been feeling yukky since yesterday and finally threw up tonight..
Will be throwing up more as the night goes on as it doesn't seem to be letting up even with the old faithful Zofran....
Two tylenol pm's and hopefully he will be able to go to bed and sleep the night
away..

Neulasta shot and feeling tired...

Mathew had the pump removed today and is free and clear of needles until Nov 3rd...
He had a shot of Neulasta which will help keep his white cells high. He might get flu like symptons though as a side effect!!!!!!!
He was going to take Briana to church for the Daddy daughter pumpkin carving but he was too tired poor guy.. Briana had a "stand in dad" Brother Jenson... THANK YOU for being there at the last minute...

Chemo done until Nov 3rd

Mathew did his two days of chemo... Tomorrow he goes back to get the pump removed and have a shot of goodies to keep him healthy and his blood counts where they should be.. He has been getting tingling sensations from cold drinks and some nausea BUT doing ok.. Even popped out to do a "spray" today!!! how about that?

We met some "British folk" today while doing chemo and it was fun to chat with them. David also has colon cancer so I think he might end up being a pillar of strength to my man.. His wife Marjorie is a blast and that good ol British humor is fun to be around............
I actually enjoy going to the sessions with him and meeting people...
Will update more as the week goes on..

Those chicken legs will be TURKEY legs soon with all the goodies we are getting....

You guys are AWESOME............. Thank you for the meals coming in.. tonight we had a delicious meal from the Romneys... cookies too.Yummy !!!..THEN
cookies from the Fords.... so stinking GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then the Rettews brought a whole container FULL of different cookies and their TWO SWEET KIDS along with them tonight.. We had a blast.. NOT to forget good ol Roberts for the root beer and the great idea with the dry ice.. we will be sure to do that for fun with our kids and get some good laughs going on here...

OH and sweet Teresa for the most scrummy pumpkin chocolate chip cookies yesterday..
NOW................ who is going to jog with me and do exercises with me to get rid of ALL the weight I've put on since Mathew got sick.. He lost 18lbs and GUESS WHAT................ I FOUND IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol lol

Thank you friends for the wonderful goodies and your true friendship over the past few days... well weeks actually... Family too of course...

Chemo postponed..

We got to the treatment center today and waited for about 1 1/2 hours for the chemo BUT the Insurance company had not sorted the referral out for the pump...
SO.. we are going to go tomorrow and Wednesday now instead... I just spoke to the nurse and it looks like everything is approved and we will begin the chemo tomorrow morning....

We did get to fill in a few pages of the "A father's legacy" book..

Well............. tomorrow is the day..

Mathew starts his chemo tomorrow at 9am...
Last night (saturday) we had our friends.. Linda and Grant... Patti and Larry over to play dominoes and eat eat eat!!!!!!!!!!! What a blast it was.
We needed this fun time before the downtime that might be heading our way.. Thanks to friendship!
